Year 12 homework - conservation rules
What is the equation for neutron decay?
Calculate the charges and mass-energies of all particles involved. Is it possible?
What happens to the energy left over?
Check the equations in q3 P480 – could they happen? Is mass-energy and charge conserved? (Use table on P493 to help)
•Interactions between particles must obey three basic conservation rules
•Momentum conservation
•Mass-energy conservation
•Charge conservation
